Welcome.
I'm Mariam.

I know what it feels like to be lost inside yourself, and what it means to find your way back.
I specialize in working with teenagers and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, and the particular weight of feeling different. I also work with parents trying to reach those same teenagers, adults moving through major life transitions, and couples trying to find their way back to each other.
Therapy has been genuinely transformational in my own life: my own experiences with it shape the kind of clinician I am: someone who can face the difficult parts of life while still bringing genuine warmth and presence into the room. I don't take lightly what it means to sit with someone in this kind of vulnerability, and I honor this by staying curious, present, and attuned to every person sitting in front of me.
The shape of my work.
Sometimes we simply need another way of understanding ourselves and the world around us. I help clients deepen awareness of their emotional and embodied experience, inviting greater safety, wholeness, and self-understanding into the room. Using depth psychology, parts work, and attachment theory, we explore your symptoms not as a problem to be fixed, but as an invitation to go deeper.
Outside the chair.
I live in Ojai with my daughter, partner, and way too many animals. When I'm not in session, I'm likely exploring outside, cooking something my grandmother would recognize, or reading a novel that has very little to do with psychology.
You are not broken.
The parts of you that feel most difficult deserve the most curiosity.
Context matters.
Identity, culture, body- they all come into the room with you and need to be part of the conversation .
Knowing ourselves is transformational.
Having a space, just for you, to understand your self better is in and of itself healing.
